Something Big

July 15th, 2011

There is something Big and Exciting coming.  Do you sometimes search YouTube for Craft inspiration only to be dissapointed in the content or the quality of the videos?  Anyone and everyone can post to YouTube but it’s not always worth watching.  There is a Craft Channel coming to the internet and I understand it’s completely FREE!  This is something that the Craft Industry really needs right now.  Stacy Julian founder of Big Picture Classes is one of the experts that has announced that she will be teaching on the Network and more will be announced in the lead up to the first show in less than 20 days.

This is some of the information posted on the My Craft Channel website “My Craft Channel is the first of its kind online TV Craft Network. It goes beyond the simple web “how-to” home video & delivers broadcast quality programming. Over 20 new shows each week there is something for everyone. Top experts, bloggers & craft celebrities in various niches from sewing, painting, scrapbooking, DIY projects, photography, mixed media & more have joined together to bring education to the WEB with TV formatted shows”.

So much craft in just one place, this is very exciting, I for one can’t wait for the first episode.

You can find more information and a chance to win one of 20 Cricut Machines at the My Craft Channel website.

Blog Updating

June 2nd, 2011

I just wanted to drop in and let you know that I am still here.  I have had some major problems with my blog which meant that every time I did a post and published it my blog would crash.  I have had some work done to the blog and more work still to come.  I didn’t want to start the blog all over again so hopefully the major problem is fixed – the rest of the changes are just cosmetic and additions that will update it a little.

Thanks for your patience during this time.

Copic Certified

May 16th, 2010

While in Syndey I attended a Copic Certification course.  I was one of only about 30 people who attended the first Australian Certification in Australia with Marianne Walker and Lori Craig.

This is Lori, Myself and Marianne

Marianne did a fantastic job instructing us as well as being very entertaining

I don’t know if you can see in this photo but Marianne even coloured her wedding ring green (it comes off with hand sanitiser or a baby wipe).  Marianne has a tendency to Copic colour everything, even her hair!

So this means I can now teach others how to use Copic Markers!  Copic Ciao Markers are now in stock, I’ve started with 72 colours with more being added soon.

SIA

May 15th, 2010

Last week I had my annual trip down to Sydney to attend SIA (Scrapbook Industry Australia) Trade event.  I had a wonderful time and got to spend time with my friend, Sharyn.  I saw and played with lots of new releases (keep an eye on the New Arrivals for these) and attended classes with Wendy Senger (creator and owner of Glimmer Mist and Tattered Angles), Heidi Swapp (no introductions necessary), Julie Van Oosten (owner and creative mind behind Collections Elements) as well as Ngaire Bartlam (very talented and a lovely lady as well) and lots more classes.

 Heidi and me

   Wendy and me

Heidi’s class was amazing and I have always loved Glimmer Mist but now I love it even more now that I have learned yet more techniques to use with it.  Heidi is a wonderful public speaker and during her inspirational talk at SIA she managed to send me to tears more than a handful of times.

SIA is never long enough for me, there are so many classes to do and lots of manufacturers stands to visit (with only two days to try to fit everything in) and I have to admit they are the most full on days of my year (and that’s saying a lot with my four children) but in saying that I love it because I get to actually create and not have to think too hard about it.  I actually thought that I had taken a lot more photos than I did (the manufacturers do a fantastic job on the displays on their designated spaces) and unfortunately it’s only now that I am back home again that I discovered that I did more looking than photo taking.

Here are some pictures of the Collections Elements booth – Julie and her team do a fantastic job decorating their stand year after year.

I also have to thank my wonderful husband who was brave (or silly) enough to stay at home and take great care of the children.

All in all a fantastic trip and I managed to scrapbook as well!
